Ingredients for 4 people (or just one gourmand ♥ ):

4 large apples
Anise stars
Cinnamon stick
Cardamom
Nutmeg
Ginger powder
Dried cranberries
Roasted nuts (walnuts and hazelnut)
Roasted pumpkin seeds
Vanilla sauce (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Scoop out the core from top of the apple, leaving a well. Do not cut all the way through. Stuff each apple with 1 cinnamon stick, anise star and dried cranberries. Place in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with cardamom, nutmeg and ginger powder. Bake in preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until apples are tender. Serve with roasted nuts, pumpkin seeds and optionally vanilla sauce.

Great snack, breakfast or dinner. Brilliant alternative to low-calorie dessert.

Warning: amazing aromas of spices, which are released during baking can set you in a very good mood which can lead to a fit of giggles!

Enjoy!
